An extra layer of engagement to the overall music experience on our platform.
The official 2024 in Music Charts highlights impressive trends across both Arabic and International music scenes. Regional icons Amr Diab, Ramy Sabry, and Elissa once again dominate the Arabic charts, shaping the sound of the region. Meanwhile, globally renowned artists such as Taylor Swift, Billie Eilish, and The Weeknd lead the International charts, showcasing Anghami’s diverse catalog and the wide-ranging tastes of its vibrant user base.
Amr Diab has held the title of Anghami’s top artist for 7 consecutive years, boasting an impressive record of 2.4 billion streams. In addition, a key trend in 2024 was the return of albums, with Amr Diab’s “Makanak” album alone amassing 232 million streams. Other artists like Ramy Sabry, Elissa, Angham, Abdel Majeed Abdallah, and Marilyne Naaman also captivated listeners with their remarkable albums. On the global stage, icons like Taylor Swift and Billie Eilish made waves with some of the year’s most-streamed releases.
In terms of genres, this year three stood out with impressive growth. Afro House saw a massive 250% increase in streams, with Adam Port leading the way. His track ‘Move‘ became the most streamed international song, with almost 6 million streams. Hip-hop made a triumphant return to the spotlight, largely due to the one-month-long Kendrick Lamar vs. Drake feud, driving 6.5 million streams between the two artists. Egyptian Pop, meanwhile, saw a 20% boost in streams, marking a major milestone for the genre this year.
2024 was a year of incredible growth for both breakthrough artists and timeless hits. Ilmond saw a 25% increase in streams, Maryline Naaman skyrocketed by a 330% increase, and Sabrina Carpenter’s streams surged an impressive 540%. As for Tul8te, he was able to reach 50M streams in 2024 only.
Meanwhile, classic tracks experienced a revival. Sherine Abdel Wahab’s ‘Kalam Eineh‘ (2018), ‘Al Watar Al Hassas‘ (2018), and ‘Sabry Alil’ (2003) gained traction, while Coldplay’s tracks re-entered the Top 100 Int’l Songs following their UAE concert hype. Wael Jassar’s ‘Zorouf M3adany‘ (2015) and Amr Diab’s ‘Tamally Maak‘ (2000) also made it to the Top 100 of 2024, alongside Bahaa Sultan’s ‘Ana Ghaltan,’ (2022) which continued trending since its release.
Anghami’s 2024 user statistics, on the other hand, reveal impressive engagement, with listeners streaming music for an astounding 23.4 billion minutes this year.
