Following the resounding success of last year’s campaign, users in the region have eagerly awaited the exciting comeback of the Thumb Race. The campaign has returned with a refined and expanded Thumb Race edition, tailored to users’ preferences and listening habits. More than 45,000 users raced to claim their songs within the very first hours of the launch and 20 songs got claimed within the first second.
Thumb Race allows music lovers and fans to race through Anghami’s vast catalog where they could select their favorite song, claim it quickly before anyone and get featured with this song everywhere on Anghami until December 31, 2023.
In this years’ edition, Anghami Gold members were granted an exclusive advantage, gaining early access to claim their favorite songs one hour before other users. This addition led to an incredible response, with 24% of Gold members securing their favorite tracks within the first 24 hours of the campaign’s launch.
The buzz around the campaign took social media by a storm, from viral tweets to popular stories, users expressed their excitement in claiming their songs, and others shared their disappointment in not being the first to claim theirs. A user tweeted: “Claimed my favorite song in Anghami’s Thumb Race, it’s mine now nobody’s allowed to stream it anymore sorry”. Another user, faced with the challenging decision of choosing a song, humorously tweeted: “Choosing my major was easier than choosing what song I want to claim on Anghami”. Furthermore, and in a true statement of competitiveness and dedication, a user went above and beyond by creating 26 different accounts to claim all their 26 favorite songs.
Anghami’s Thumb Race has also rallied fans to support their favorite artists. Nearly 19 artists, including iconic names such as The Weeknd, Wegz, Marwan Moussa, and many more, have witnessed every single song for them being claimed.
